Scarecrow Creating (Fri. 3 Oct, 2014 4:00 pm - Sat. 4 Oct, 2014 5:00 pm)

Mason County District Library will host Scarecrow Creating Friday, October 3, beginning at 4:00 pm and continuing through the weekend (while supplies last) at the Ludington Library.  Young artists are invited to create a scarecrow.  All supplies and materials for scarecrows will be provided by the library.  Children under age 8 MUST be accompanied by an ADULT.  ALL Mason County District Library events are free of charge.

Author Discussion (Mon. 6 Oct, 2014 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm)

West Shore Community College is presenting a reading and discussion with author Steve Luxenberg on Monday Oct 6, at 7:30 PM at the Ludington Library. He is the author of Annie's Ghosts: A Journey Into a Family Secret. The award winning nonfiction book revolves around his mother's decision to hide the existence of a sister who was institutionalized for 31 yrs in a Michigan asylum. The discussion is free and open to the public.

Family Craft in Scottville (Tue. 7 Oct, 2014 3:00 pm - 5:30 pm)

At the Mason County District Library in Scottville Tuesday, October 7 at 3:00 pm, the Family Fun Craft series features fabric pumpkins. Families are invited to drop in any time between 3:00 and 5:30 pm and get creative.

Tuesday, October 7 at 6:00 pm crafters are invited to the West Shore Bank Room at Ludington Library to decorate Halloween jars.

Greek Gods Party! (Wed. 15 Oct, 2014 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm)

Fans of Percy Jackson are invited to a party Wednesday, October 15 at 4:00 pm at the Ludington Library to celebrate the publication of the newest title by Rick Riordan, Percy Jackson’s Greek Gods.  Fans will have the opportunity to participate in MCDL’s Olympic Games to see if they have what it takes to be a hero of Olympus.  Percy Jackson readers age 9 and older are invited to attend the Mason County District Library’s Heroes of Olympus Party Wednesday, October 15 at 4:00 pm at the Ludington Library.  All Mason County District Library events are free.

Young scientists are invited to the Ludington Library Wednesday, October 22 at 4:00 pm for the Great Oreo Experiment. Join us as we try to discover the very best Oreo in the land. YES! You will be asked to eat Oreos for SCIENCE! Children under age 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Mason County District Library programs are free of charge.

Pumpkin Party! (Fri. 24 Oct, 2014 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm)

Children of all ages are invited to a Pumpkin Party at the Mason County District Library in Ludington, Friday, October 24, at 4:00 pm.  We will be creating Halloween decorations and doodads.  Games and other activities are also planned.  There will be a slightly spooky story.  Costumes are welcome!  Children under age 8 must be accompanied by an adult.  ALL Mason County District Library programs are free of charge.

Downtown Trick or Treat (Sat. 25 Oct, 2014 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm)

Trick or treat at the Ludington Library, 2:00-4:00 pm. Parade begins at 2 pm. Downtown Trick or Treat starts right after the parade and goes to 4 pm. Then wrap up your trick or treating by coming back to the Library at 4 pm for an After Party with crafts and games.
