Resident, Non-Resident and Online Registration
All Mason County residents may apply for a resident registration. You must have an identification showing a Mason County address. A resident registration is free and entitles you to use the library and all services in accordance with library policies and is valid for 5 years. Children and youth under 18 must have parent or guardian approval and identification.
OCEAN COUNTY RESIDENTS
If you are registered library card holder of any Oceana County library (Pentwater, Hart, or Shelby), and can present your card at our library, you may borrow books from us in accordance with our library policies. You can be signed up as a non-resident library card holder (see below), but without the fee.
If you are not a full-time resident of Mason County, but you will be in the county for at least 3 months, AND you have a local address, you may apply for an annual registration. An annual registration is free and entitles you to use the library as if you were a resident and is valid for 1 year.
If you are NOT a resident of Mason County or you do not have a Mason county address, you may purchase a non-resident registration. A non-resident registration costs $20.00 per person, or $50 per household a year.
DEPOSIT / TEMPORARY REGISTRATION
If you are not a resident of Mason County you may choose to apply for a deposit registration. With a deposit of $25.00, or 1/2 of the value of the materials you wish to borrow, (whichever is greater) you may borrow 2 items at a time. Your deposit will be returned to you when the materials are returned to the library.
All Mason County District Library records pertaining to patron registration and circulation are considered to be confidential in nature.
FOR ALL REGISTRATIONS THE LIBRARY MAY LIMIT THE NUMBER OF ITEMS YOU MAY BORROW UNTIL YOUR REGISTRATION INFORMATION IS VERIFIED.
ACCESS TO SOME ONLINE RESOURCES MAY BE LIMITED TO MASON COUNTY RESIDENTS ONLY.
