Channel 98 is the public access television station serving Charter Communications cable subscribers in the cities of Ludington, Scottville,  and Pentwater and in Hamlin & Pere Marquette townships.   This service is a result of an agreement between the City of Ludington and Charter Communications.    It is operated for the City of Ludington by the Mason County District Library. Channel 98 will broadcast locally made videos of community interest produced by individuals or organizations which follow the guidelines outlined below.  


Guidelines

Video Programs

The Mason County District Library reserves the right to determine the appropriateness of any video program to be shown on Channel 98, and will further determine the time and frequency of showings. Individuals and organizations must have a signed ‘Cable Broadcast Indemnification Agreement’ on file with the library which provides the name, phone number and address of the individual authorized to represent the organization.

The Video program must be of general interest to the community and of a non-profit, non-commercial nature, tapes may not be less than ½ hour in length without prior approval, all programs must be locally produced except for programs sponsored by governmental agencies or schools, programs must be scheduled at least 1 week in advance, unless prior permission is given, and be available for preview, all press releases for video programs must be approved by the District Library in advance of release.

Community Announcements

The Mason County District Library reserves the right to determine the appropriateness of any announcement shown on Channel 98’s Community Announcement Board, may edit the text of announcements and will further determine the schedule and frequency of announcements.

Community Announcements must be of general interest to the community and be of a non-profit, non-commercial nature, must be sponsored by a local non-profit organization, community group, governmental agency, school, or religious or church group. must complete an ‘Announcement Information Form,’  announcements for specific events must be scheduled at least 2 weeks before the event unless prior permission is given.
